Central Avenue, Hatcher Road, Dunlap Avenue, and nearby Seventh Street provide local restaurants, services, health care, and community institutions. The area feels distinct from both Midtown and farther-north master-planned communities.
State Route 51 and Interstate 17 sit on opposite sides of the broader area, while Central and Seventh avenues connect south toward Uptown and downtown. Mountain geography limits some east-west routes.
North Mountain and Shaw Butte place preserve trails close to many homes, while Sunnyslope Park and neighborhood streets provide more everyday recreation.
